Pride with Purpose: How Local Businesses Are Giving Back This June

Pride Month is often associated with parades, celebrations, and rainbow-colored displays. At its core, it’s about visibility, community, support, and turning those values into action. This June, the North Shore Chamber of Commerce is partnering with two chamber businesses—The Argo and Fitzgerald Pharmacy’s Fitzy’s Café—to support LGBTQ+ youth through fundraising efforts benefiting The Trevor Project. But it doesn’t stop there – the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber Of Commerce couldn’t say no to the pride fun, either.

While national conversations around Pride can often feel overwhelming or distant, community impact starts locally. We’re excited to highlight two North Shore businesses using their creativity, hospitality, and community spirit to make a difference.
Throughout June, The Argo will feature a specialty Pride cocktail, crafted with locally-made spirits and fresh ingredients. Later in the month, Fitzy’s Café will introduce a dramatic coffee mocktail inspired by bold flavors and meaningful storytelling.
The Argo: Ghost of Al (Margarita): For the legacy of those who carved out spaces to gather, celebrate, and be themselves—a spirited tribute to the past that still inspires the present. Featuring chile tequila, watermelon, lime, Campari, and grapefruit. One dollar of every sale will be donated.
Fitzy’s: When Light Breaks the Dark (NA Coffee Whiskey Sour): For the spaces where identity is hidden, shared, and finally seen – this drink begins in darkness and becomes luminous when revealed. Featuring sous vide blackberry -tamarind syrup, lime juice, blackstrap molasses, green coffee, and orange bitters. 10% of each drink sale will be kicked back to donation.
These initiatives may start with a drink order, but there’s a bigger picture here: creating a community where people feel welcomed, supported, and valued. By supporting, customers are helping fund resources that provide hope, connection, and support for LGBTQ+ youth who need it most, as well as supporting a local north shore business. To amplify these efforts, the North Shore Chamber will match donations made through each promotion, up to $500 per business. Additionally, the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber will be matching the Argo’s $1 donation in its entirety.
The Trevor Project is the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ+ young people. Through its 24/7 crisis services, peer support programs, educational resources, and advocacy work, the organization provides life-saving support to thousands of young people across the country every day.

This Pride Month, we invite our community to raise a glass, share a conversation, and support local businesses that are giving back in meaningful ways.
